Quartz is the most abundant mineral in the earth's crust and accounts for over 12% of its composition.

Some transparent types of quartz have very interesting inclusions containing other minerals, which increase the value of the jewelery. These are, for example, green chlorite flakes, actinolite needles, tourmaline or brown rutile.

The perfection of shapes and the splendor of colors made it a more and more sought-after decorative stone. Many varieties of quartz are used to make beautiful jewelry, figurines, cameos or decorative elements, such as clocks.

Currently, the richest deposits of quartz crystals are in Madagascar and Brazil.

Rose quartz is unique among gemstones, possibly the most popular variety of quartz. It is characterized by various shades of pink, from pale pink to very intense pink. These colors are caused by the presence of manganese oxide. Rose quartz is usually found in pegmatites, almost always in dense and granular clusters.

Like other types of quartz, you can find rose quartz with inclusions. The presence of rutile needles can provoke the phenomenon of asterism, four-pointed or six-pointed star, but only when light shines through the stone.

Most rose quartz specimens are cabochon cut due to insufficient transparency.

Be very careful with m pink quartz, it may lose its color if left for longer under the influence of external weather conditions.

Rose quartz was already used in ancient times in jewelry and ornamentation.
